Drum & bass brethren, it’s time for another dose of new D&B with The Rinse. For this week’s episode, RAM Records producer Culture Shock checks in to give us his favorite cuts at the moment.
Through his undeniable production talent, Culture Shock has become one of the brightest beacons in D&B over the last decade. From his start at the noteworthy Moving Shadow imprint to his current home at the mighty RAM Records, Culture Shock’s story is one of spontaneous generation.
While the Londoner’s hits date back to the beginning of his career, it was 2007 that the young producer took his career to new heights after signing to RAM. Subsequently, countless hits ensued, including the anthemic Troglodyte, I Remember, and massive Brookes Brothers collab, Rework.
Just a few short weeks ago, the coveted artist released yet another instant classic just in time for summer called City Lights. The tune has garnered support across the entire BBC Radio 1 and is getting regular rotation from scene’s top DJs including Friction, Andy C, and Matrix & Futurebound. To add to the buzz already surrounding the tune, RAM recently released a limited run of vinyl strictly for the die-hards.

Huge track, proper drum & bass in your face. Guaranteed to get the party started–this is Mind Vortex at their finest. I’ve been double dropping this with my tune Troglodyte in my sets and it goes off.
